ASAM Announces Public Policy Statements on SUD Prevention & Medical Ethics

ASAM has released a set of evidence-informed policy recommendations for preventing alcohol and drug-related problems in contemporary society. The policy recommendations were approved by the ASAM Board of Directors and have been endorsed by the American College of Preventive Medicine.

ASAM’s Board of Directors have approved a new Public Policy Statement on Medical Ethics with Annotations Applicable to Addiction Medicine. The document aims to adhere to the basic AMA Principles of Medical Ethics with annotations to help guide the ethical decision-making of those clinicians practicing addiction medicine.
