This program will update attendees on controlled substance prescribing requirements and non-opiate pain management regimens. Completing this activity will fulfill 1.5 hours of the controlled substance CME/CPD requirement for the providers who prescribe controlled substances in NC.
This program will educate controlled substance prescribers on different aspects associated with pain management, including effective utilization of controlled substances to manage pain as well as identifying signs of patient abuse or misuse of these medication. Completing this activity will fulfill 1.5 hours of the controlled substance CME/CPD requirement for the providers who prescribe controlled substances in NC.
These trainings are provided by by Area LAHEC in partnership with Community Impact of North Carolina and supported by the NC Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services, with funding from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, State Opioid Response Supplemental – Prevention Funds.

What: Live portion of 8-hour MAT waiver course

How it Works: When you have completed the entire course, you will receive a certificate of completion. Physicians will then be able to apply for the waiver to prescribe buprenorphine. All other eligible providers can apply for the waiver after completing an additional 16-hour course here for advanced practice nurses and here for PAs.
