NC Statewide Overdose Surveillance Reports for November 2020

The Injury and Violence Prevention Branch of the Division of Public Health recently updated data on opioid-related overdose and unintentional med/drug overdose with potential for abuse emergency department visits reports (NC DETECT).

Overdose Involving Medication or Drugs with Dependency Potential

There were 1,137 overdose ED visits this November involving medication or drugs with dependency potential compared to 910 this time last year (Nov 2019).

There were 648 opioid overdose ED visits this November Compared to 497 this time last year (Nov 2019).
