Members of CSOO Urge Committee Leaders to Consider the CARE Act of 2019

In early November, members of the Coalition to Stop Opioid Overdose and other organizations wrote to leaders of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, asking them to consider the Comprehensive Addiction Resources Emergency (CARE) Act of 2019. The bill would provide $100 billion in federal funding over the next ten years to states, local governments, and other organizations and institutions to support federal research and programs to prevent drug use while expanding access to evidence-based prevention, harm reduction, addiction treatment, mental health services, and recovery support services.
